On Friday May 22, Mrs. DePiero and her grade 8 class (with additional help from the grade 7 class) organized a “Spring Fling” of various fun activities for the students of IHMS. The Spring Fling was organized to make up for a similar activity called “Winter Fest” that was planned for last February’s Catholic Schools Week. Our mild spring, however, made it necessary to cancel Winter Fest because of a lack of snow.
Half of the Spring Fling activities took place inside the school and the other half took place outside in the playground. Each activity lasted for 8 minutes, and a whistle was the signal to move on to the next event.
Students from K-7 were put into mixed teams (with grade 7 students acting as team leaders), while the grade 8 students ran the activities and ensured that everything ran smoothly.
