IHMS celebrates the Ukrainian culture every day, and has done so for the better part of 107 years. Students here learn Ukrainian and French as additional subjects within an English language curriculum.

Each year, students and staff of IHMS celebrate their unique culture and heritage with Ukrainian Week. Students and staff can be seen wearing blue and yellow clothing during this period to symbolize the colours of the Ukrainian flag – a blue sky above a brilliant yellow field of wheat. The busiest and most exciting day of Ukrainian Week is the day of the concert. The Ukrainian concert is the most important event of the week, and the culmination of many hours of practice and preparation. It involves all the staff and students of IHMS, as well as hundreds of visitors to the school.
