There was only one IHMS girl’s basketball team for the 2017 season – a competitive team coached by Mr. Dedio. |
The Girl’s “A” Team |
| The players on the boy’s A team consisted of a mixture of grade 7 and 8 students. They were: Lauren A., Brooke B., Ariadna C., Jade D., Alyssa D., Danikah F., Jessica K., Nikita K., Carmela M., and Chantel M. |

In regular season play, the girls won 4 out of the 8 games played, a respectable record. They didn’t enter any tournaments this year. |
| At the end of the season, the girls entered their first playoff game against Balmoral, which they won! They then faced of against Holy Ghost, the top rated team in the league. Unfortunately, they lost to Holy Ghost and moved to the consolation side of the playoff schedule. They played one more game against St. Maurice, which they lost, eliminating them from the playoffs and ending their season. |  |
Despite the disappointment of losing the final two games of the playoffs, the girls learned a lot of important basketball skills this year. They should continue to improve next year when they make up most of the 2018 competitive team.
