On October 23, the grade 8 class went on a full day spiritual retreat to a camp just outside of the perimeter called Camp Manitou. The purpose of the retreat was twofold: first of all to help the students get a better sense of “who they are”, and secondly to help each student build a stronger sense of community with the rest of their classmates.

The retreat consisted of both indoor and outdoor team-building activities (including a session where the students prepared their own lunch), as well as quieter sessions where students spent time in personal reflection.

The retreat was facilitated by the school’s multi-talented grade 3 teacher Mrs. Tycholis, who has some expertise and professional training in these matters. Mrs. Depiero, Miss Rowe, and Mr. Picklyk also participated in the retreat.
