The Immaculate Heart of Mary School "Annual
Tea" was held on Sunday, February 2, 2003 from
1:30-4:00 pm. Along with the school's
fund-raising dinner (held in March of every
year), the Tea is the school's largest and most
important fund-raising and community building
event of the year.
This year, the Tea honoured the Sisters
Servants of Mary Immaculate for their hundred
years of mission work in Canada. The Sisters
Servants of Mary Immaculate own and operate
Immaculate Heart of Mary School, as well as Holy
Family Nursing Home. The gym walls were covered
with "tea art" of the Sisters and examples of
their mission work here in Canada. The Tea was
opened by Sister Junia, who was the school's
principal many years ago, and who is now the
SSMI Provincial Superior.
