trembita_edited-1 From Friday, April 17 to Wednesday, April 22, all K- 8 students at IHMS participated in one of four different Carpathian art activities. These activities were instructed by guest artist Ihor Drahun, and were a follow-up to this year’s Ukrainian Week theme of “Legends of the Carpathians”.

The art activities varied with each grade:

  • Grade 7 and 8 students did wood burning on a Hutzul axe at Sts. Vladimir & Olga Hall.
  • Grade 5 and 6 students did wood burning on a wooden frame, also at Sts. Vladimir & Olga Hall.
  • Grade 3 and 4 students did a stained glass activity in their classrooms.
  • Kindergarten, grade 1 and 2 students did a painting on a wooden frame, also in their classrooms.

The finished works of art were displayed in the gym on Thursday, April 23 during the Volunteer Appreciation program.
