Immaculate Heart of Mary School (IHMS) welcomes Ukrainians seeking refuge in our province.
IHMS has received more than 50 families and 70 students from Ukraine. The school still has some capacity to receive additional students, but some classes are now at capacity.
IHMS offers a caring, compassionate and supportive Ukrainian community.
Although our language of instruction is English, the majority of our faculty and staff and many of our students are fluent in Ukrainian.

Super Spring Online Raffle
Tickets for the Super Spring 50/50 Raffle will be for sale online starting Wednesday, April 17, and will be on sale until May 17. The more tickets sold the bigger the final cash prize. The final draw will be held the afternoon of May 17. In addition, there are three Early Bird draws at $118 each (throughout the months of April and May), that all ticket purchasers will have a chance to win.
100% of the net proceeds are to be invested in programs that, with your help, will enrich our students’ experience.
Tickets prices are: 1 ticket for $5, 3 tickets for $10, 10 tickets for $20, 50 tickets for $50
Parents’ Guild Fundraiser
The Springtime Plants Fundraiser features several different vegetables, herbs, perennial flowers, and annual flowers from Glenlea Greenhouses. Order Forms will be available on Monday, March 4. Orders will be due by Wednesday, April 3. Orders will be distributed on Monday, May 13 just in time for the spring planting season. Sorochinsky Yarmarok!
Ukrainian Week is an exciting and educational week. During Ukrainian Week this year, the students are learning all about the people, sights and sounds of a famous Ukrainian Fair … Sorochinsky Yarmarok! The Ukrainian Concert on March 21, took the form of the Sorochinsky Yarmarok. Each of the classes in the school visited the fair to sell their produce, perhaps buy some artifacts, hear musicians, and meet some gypsies and the cast of other characters that appear at a Yarmarok. Ukrainian Week learning continues with an art acitivity facilitated by guest artist Patricia Tymkiw. Each of the students will create a beautiful piece of glass art, depicting flowers of Ukraine that would appear at a yarmarok.

IHMS offers a Monday to Friday, full-day Kindergarten program that provides a strong academic and social development program with a special concern for the Ukrainian culture, and as well, faith development.

Support IHMS
The IHMS – Ukraine Student Relief Fund has been established to support the educational needs of nursery to grade 8 students and their families, that have fled the war in Ukraine, and will be enrolled at IHMS. Donations to this fund will be used to offset tuition costs, supplies, uniforms, extra-educational support, or any other identified needs that will aid in the education and stability of these students and their families.
